The Bonanza Valley Days Worship in the Park will feature an Ecumenical worship service on Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m. the Brooten city park led by River of Life staff and friends including Pastor Mitch Wall. We are grateful for all who participate in this event each year that officially kicks off Bonanza Valley Days in Brooten!

The official Bonanza Valley Days poster was posted on the Brooten Minnesota Facebook page back in mid-June. It will be reposted this evening. Further details on BVD will be added to this web article as well.
The BVD Craft and Vendor Show runs Friday and Saturday, July 11-12, at the Brooten City Park. The contact person for this is Tiana Solbreken, who you can contact for questions or to register. Her email is solbrekentiana@gmail.com.
Also, on Friday, the Brooten Fire Department's chicken BBQ supper is from 5 to 8 p.m. at the city park.
A few other BVD highlights coming this weekend: the BVD kiddie parade is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and staging takes place at the Trinity Lutheran parking lot on Hatton Street. The BVD grand parade, with Brooten Electric as the grand marshals, will start at 1:30 p.m. on Main Street in Brooten on Sunday, July 13.
Update on Thursday, July 10: all BVD kids parade entries will have their names in the drawing for two tickets to the Great River Children's Museum in St. Cloud. Hooray! This is also donated by Bollig, Inc.
The BVD Classic Car, Truck and Tractor show runs from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday on Main Street. This is part of a long, long list of activities taking place on Saturday.
The Saturday night street dance features Dam Jammers, and they start playing some time after 8:30 p.m. on Main Street.
On Sunday, July 13, you can enjoy the Scouting America Waffle Feed at the Brooten City Park. They will serve from 8 a.m. to noon, so let's get them a terrific turnout! Getting over 400 guests is not unheard of for this BVD event. Prices: children age 5 and under eat free! Children ages 6 to 12 are $7, and children 13 and up and adults are $10.
The BVD grand parade is at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday followed by the Bonanza Valley State Bank ice cream social at the Brooten Pavilion. Also after the parade, the Miss Brooten Pageant takes place at the Pavilion.
