The first food offerings for Bonanza Valley Days is tonight (Thursday, July 10) at the BVD Worship in the Park. Following worship, cookies will be served at the Brooten Pavilion. The worship service, led by River of Life Church, will start at 7 p.m.
Also, right off the bat, we can enjoy food offerings at our regular establishments of Backyard Burger, RJ's Mini Mart, the KaDe Shack, Marcia's Bar and Grill and Lincoln's Restaurant. Beyond that, food vendors and other food options are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
On Friday during the day, Jenniges Meats (Jenniges Chuckwagon) of Brooten will have cooked food for sale as part of the BVD Youth Baseball tournament. The B-B-E 3rd and 4th grade Jaguars will host an 8-team tournament at the city park and elementary diamond. Serving will run through about 2 p.m. depending on demand.
On Friday night, the BVD Firemen's Chicken BBQ will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. at the city park. This is a terrific opportunity to stop and get a great meal and visit with friends!
A food vendor from Osakis will be set up with mini donuts and other food offerings on Friday night during the street dance and also on Saturday (details TBA for Saturday).
Additional Saturday details: a Mexican food truck will be set up in the morning during the Car, Truck and Tractor Show in downtown Brooten. They are serving until about 2:30 p.m. After they conclude their stay in Brooten, the Jenniges Meats food truck will set up and serve from the "alfalfa" patch next to Lincoln's Restaurant.
The Lucky Shots Bowling Alley will serve their regular selection of pizzas from their oven on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, the Sedan Fire and Rescue will have a hot dog and hamburger stand at the city park shelter. They'll start serving at about 11 a.m. on Saturday and help provide food at the BVD men's softball tournament and the BVD craft and vendor show. In downtown Brooten, the B-B-E Jaguars fastpitch varsity team will operate the Booster Club food trailer beginning at 11 a.m. and lasting through at least 11 p.m. depending on demand during the street dance. The fastpitch team is expecting food demand to remain strong into the evening!
On Sunday, July 13, you can enjoy the Scouting America Waffle Feed at the Brooten City Park. They will serve from 8 a.m. to noon, so let's get them a terrific turnout! Getting over 400 guests is not unheard of for this BVD event. Prices: children age 5 and under eat free! Children ages 6 to 12 are $7, and children 13 and up and adults are $10.
