Emergency responders and natural gas workers responding on Thursday, May 14

Two main natural gas lines were ruptured in southwest Brooten during the afternoon of Thursday, May 14.
The area affected in Brooten is in the neighborhood of the intersection of Park Street and Western Avenue. The public is strongly urged to stay away from this area. It is not helpful to have additional onlookers and gawkers in this part of Brooten. A full force of Brooten Fire Department members have responded and have barricaded off the area.
The gas leak took place while Arvig utility workers were installing new internet lines early in the afternoon. This was reported at approximately 1:40 p.m.
An attached video was recorded at the scene at 4:10 p.m. on May 14.
