The St. Donatus Catholic Church hosted a Bonanza Valley Days Mass on the final day of Brooten's four-day summer celebration. Father Wade Menezes provided the Holy Gospel, which was Matthew 13, verses 1-23, also known as the Parable of the Sower.
A 21-minute Homily followed by Fr. Wade, and part of it is featured in the attached video. His Homily was a prelude to a four-day Parish Mission education session in Sauk Centre that took place from July 12 to July 16. The Mission was titled "In defense of Truth and Faith: Our Catholic Calling." Part of Fr. Wade's Homily centered on the idea that love without truth is a destructive force in society, and vice-versa. He included a warning on the dangers of the transgender movement in the United States while concluding on a tutorial of the Nicene Creed.
A full transcript of Fr. Wade's Homily was published in a two-part series in the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper's July 16 and July 23 issues.
