The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa baseball team successfully opened the Sub-Section 6A-South tournament with a 12-2 in in 6 innings. The opponent was No. 7-seeded West Central Area. A marvelous fireworks show by Precocious Pyrotechnics was fired off east of the football stadium on Friday, May 23. The show was part of the Class of 2025 graduation from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school. Their commencement ceremony was held that evening at the football field with picture-perfect conditions featuring almost full sunshine, almost no wind to speak of along with perfect temperatures in the upper 60s. The Brooten American Legion held a Memorial Day program on May 26 at the Brooten Pavilion. The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school band performed patriotic music, and the guest speaker was B-B-E elementary principal Josie Dingmann. This week, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) greatly altered the government's COVID jab recommendations for the public. The community of Grove Lake hosted a Memorial program that featured local veterans and a short prayer service on the shores of Grove Lake at the township park. Children participated by placing wreaths and flowers at gravesites at the two cemeteries adjacent to County Road 39 south of town. On Wednesday, April 30 at the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa elementary school, band students in grades 4 and 5 performed numerous musical pieces to kick off the spring concert held that afternoon.
