Easter Egg hunts coming

Local Easter activities at local towns

In spite of moving the event indoors due to very cold weather, local children enjoyed the Easter bunny visit in Brooten on March 31, 2018.

The Easter bunny will be kept hopping around local towns leading up to Easter, which is April 21 this year.

First, the Belgrade Commercial Club invites everyone to their Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 13. They are hosting it at the Belgrade city park at 10 a.m., and children will be divided by age into three groups. Grand prizes will be drawn after the last hunt. Also in Belgrade during that week, the B-B-E Area Jaycees will host a medallion hunt. Clues can be found on their Facebook page.

On Saturday, April 20, Elrosa will host an Easter Egg hunt and have the Easter bunny on hand for photos with children. They are holding it from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Catholic church parish center. All children will receive candy and a prize. This event is sponsored by the Elrosa Commercial Club and the Elrosa Baseball Club.

Also on Saturday, April 20, the community of Brooten will hold an Easter Egg hunt at the city park (along Highway 55 across from the elementary school) starting at 1 p.m. sharp. The event is organized with help by local families and is sponsored by many local businesses. Children are asked to register to win one of two girls' bikes and two boys' bikes in separate age groups. The Easter Egg hunt will have children divided into four age groups (ages 1-3, 4-5, 6-7 and 8-10) at different locations around the park. All hunts will occur simultaneously, so parents are asked to come prepared for that. The bicycle drawing will take place following the Easter egg hunts.

As always, read about these events and more in the weekly issues of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper.
