Jaguar baseball defeats Browerville, K-M-S in close battles (VIDEO)

After a three-day layoff from competition last week, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa baseball team struggled at the plate against Sauk Centre's Matthew Warring on Friday in Elrosa in a 4-0 loss.

The Jaguars rebounded from that with a 4-2 win against Browerville in Elrosa on Saturday against the No. 2-ranked team in Sub-Section 6A-North.

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg defeated Browerville 5-3 in the other Friday game in Elrosa and then beat Sauk Centre 14-1 in the other varsity game on Saturday.

On Monday this week against conference-leading Paynesville, the Jaguars suffered a 20-0 loss in five innings to fall to 4-3 in the Central Minnesota Conference.

The Jaguars defeated K-M-S 5-3 on Tuesday at Willie Reigstad Field in Sunburg to improve to 6-5 overall.

The Jaguars travel to Kingery Field in Atwater to face A-C-GC in a Central Minnesota Conference game on Thursday this week at 4:30 p.m. The schedule becomes a meat grinder with a doubleheader at Maple Lake on Friday, a game on Monday in Elrosa against Eden Valley-Watkins, a game at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle on Tuesday, a doubleheader at Holdingford next Wednesday and then the final regular season game in Elrosa on Thursday, May 25 against sub-section rival Upsala/Swanville Area.
