Mark your calendars! On Saturday, July 25 this summer, the Bonanza Valley Royal Strutters and National Wild Turkey Federation will host Jakes Day, a FREE youth firearm and hunting/outdoors safety day for all area youth ages 3 to 17, at the Belgrade Sportsmen's Club from 10 a.m. to noon when lunch will be served and prizes given away. This event is for ALL area children from ages 3 to 17. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m., and families are welcome to come and go as they are able to. All children who participate will receive a T-shirt, and those who stay to the end receive a free lunch and door prize. Contact persons are Wayne Wiener and Andy Illies.
Children will be able to enjoy participation at numerous firearm and archery stations that are appropriate to their age and aptitude. The stations include clay trap shooting, BB gun, rifle, pistol and muzzle loader. They can also build wood duck houses.
The prize give-away is for children still present at that time.
