On September 11, 2021, Brad Danielson is shown singing in the hay loft of his big red barn in rural Sunburg. The first annual event drew over 600.

The third annual Monson Lake Opry Festival is this Saturday in rural Sunburg. Hosted at Brad Danielson's property near Monson Lake State Park, this year's show is bringing big-time names including Mark Chestnut and Mo Putney. Kentucky Thunder will perform with Danielson as lead singer, and they will feature special guest Bobby Dale. They will perform in his specially-renovated barn that is a special sight to take in.

(HD VIDEO) From September 10, 2022 in Hayes Township, Swift County, rural Sunburg.

Danielson, a trucker by trade, is a 1996 Minnewaska Area graduate and the brainchild of the big musical event.

Gates open at 2:30 p.m., and the music starts at 3 p.m. Plenty of food and drink offerings will be available for purchase. See their (almost) full page ad on page 12 this week.

"I really enjoy putting on this festival," said Danielson in an interview from 2022. "This is a great way to bring the music I love directly to our community, instead of us chasing it around."

You can purchase tickets for $50 ahead of the event at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/7mnt52u4. Video from last year's concert is posted below.
