B-B-E football season ends in state semifinals (VIDEO)

One of the longest winning streaks on the gridiron this fall in Minnesota came to a crashing end on Saturday, November 18 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The No. 5-ranked Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa football team suffered a 63-6 loss to the top-ranked Minneota Vikings in the Class 1A state semifinals.

B-B-E trailed 14-0 after the first quarter, but the Vikings put up a 35-point outburst in the second quarter.

The Jaguars, who won 11 straight games coming into the state semis, trailed 49-6 at halftime. They scored their lone touchdown on a 57-yard reception by Hayden Sobiech from quarterback Luke Illies with 1:23 remaining in the second quarter.

The Vikings (13-0) advance to the state championship for the third straight season. They will take on Springfield (12-1), who was champions of Section 3A. Kickoff is on Friday, November 24 at 10 a.m. at U.S. Bank Stadium.
