On Saturday, December 7, 2019, Natalie Hanson and Alaya Robbin are shown with Santa Claus at the Brooten Lanes during Santa Day.

The Brooten Activities Club, Brooten Fire Relief Association and numerous local businesses are excited to sponsor the Brooten Santa Day celebration on Saturday, December 9 on Main Street with the fun starting at 3:30 p.m. at Lucky Shots Bowling Alley. At that time, children can meet Santa Claus, who will be assisted by local helpers. Santa will be available there through at least 5 p.m.

Santa Day visitors to downtown Brooten can stop at the KaDe Shack starting at 5 p.m. for the B-B-E Cub Scouts Chili Feed and Bake Sale, with proceeds going to the B-B-E Area Food Shelf. The Cub Scouts will also host Children's Bingo at the KaDe Shack. This runs through 6 p.m., and at 6 p.m. the Brooten Lighted Christmas parade will wrap up activities on main street.

(HD VIDEO) On December 10, 2022, activities from Santa Day in Brooten are shown in this video from the Brooten Lanes "Buccaneer Lounge". In 2023, these childrens' activities will be held at the KaDe Shack

Note: due to the "pot" being at a relatively high level at the Brooten Fire Relief Association Bar Bingo at the KaDe Shack (which starts at 2 p.m.), an unusually large crowd is expected for that event, which will likely last until around 4:30 p.m. After that, the Cub Scouts will begin setting up for their Santa Day events. It will be a crowded downtown, so everyone is asked to be patient with one another as the evening progresses. Visitors can expect to be able to enjoy chili after the parade, but between 6:30 and 7 p.m. the event is expected to conclude.

There's ample space for Santa Claus at the bowling alley, and other childrens activities have all been relocated to the KaDe Shack's banquet hall. Currently, the former lounge area of the bowling alley that was used for Santa Day events is being remodeled.

Brooten is fortunate to have these two fine facilities right next to one another on main street that can accommodate the usually large crowds we get for Santa Day!

New in 2023: a live Christmas Nativity scene will be set up at the newly-paved Trinity Lutheran church parking lot on Hatton Street from 4 to approximately 5:45 p.m. before the parade. The church will also hold a blanket drive at the same time and location.
