Obituary for Jason M. Michels

Jason M. Michels, age 46 of Elrosa, Minnesota and Carnegie, Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at his home in Carnegie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Mark Botzet officiating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Jason Marson Michels was born May 3, 1977 in Melrose, Minnesota to Maurice and Janet (Boecker) Michels. Jason attended Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa High School. He married Tammy Schutz on October 18, 2003 and later divorced in 2009. From this union, Rachel was born on March 19, 2005. Jason worked various jobs with the Labors' Union 563. He then began working at Cabinet Components in Sauk Centre prior to moving to Pennsylvania.

Jason enjoyed playing guitar and writing his own music, fishing, camping, and anything outdoors. He loved a good adventure, traveling to many different states.

Survivors include his daughter, Rachel Michels of Eagan; mother, Janet Michels of Belgrade; brothers, Brian (Missy) Michels of Belgrade, Bradley Michels of Alexandria, and Darin Michels of Belgrade; three nephews; and many aunts and uncles.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Michels; brother, Greg Michels; grandparents, Math and Marcella Michels and Norbert and Elizabeth Boecker; and several aunts and uncles.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral and Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
