    Bonanza Valley Days tee-shirts are in! An order of 200 BVD tee-shirts are on sale starting on Saturday afternoon, July 6 at the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper office. The office will be open starting at 12 p.m. on Saturday and will close at 5 p.m. The office will re-open at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 8 and be open until 5 p.m. to continue selling t-shirts.     The Bonanza Valley Days Medallion has been found! The Medallion Hunt, which is the first activity held during Bonanza Valley Days in Brooten, had just a two-day run.     The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Clay Trapshooting team is in its fourth year of existence. This spring the team of 53 students in grades 7-12 competed in Class 6A in Minnesota's nine-class format. Just as it has for the past two seasons, the turnout on this year's team represents one in six students at B-B-E high school.     An 18-hole, six-person golf scramble will be held on Saturday, June 29 for the annual Gary Breitbach memorial golf tournament.     Tri-Valley Opportunity Council is again participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) in Brooten. Meals will be provided to all children, ages 0-18, at NO CHARGE!     The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars volleyball team held Senior Night and recognized the four seniors who have led the team to their best regular season since the 2012 season, when they took a 22-7 record into the Sub-Section 5A-South playoffs. Head coach Kevin Weller provided a fitting tribute to seniors Ally Gruber, Katherine Mastey, Nicole Thonvold and Emily Knight prior to pre-match drills on Monday, October 22.     While the process still has a ways to go, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa school board made a big step towards selecting a new superintendent at a special work session meeting on Tuesday, April 24. After a multi-hour long process with multiple interviews of four finalists for the top position at B-B-E, the school board voted to bring Patrick Walsh of Hutchinson back on Thursday for a final interview session.     A multi-block section on the western side of Brooten lost electricity on Saturday, October 21, after an overhead power line was clipped by farm equipment. At 4:45 p.m., a loud boom was heard in western Brooten when the external auger on a large (500+ bushel) gravity box clipped an overhead power line across Highway 55 between School Street and Western Avenue.   • Two-alarm fire claims rural Brooten home

    While no loss of life has been reported, a two-alarm fire north of Brooten on Sunday, October 15 claimed a rural Brooten home. The fire call went out around 5 p.m., and both the Brooten and Elrosa fire departments responded along with the Glacial Ridge Ambulance service. By 6 p.m., the fire was out but the departments still had plenty of work to do putting out the smoke and any potential flare-ups.     The Senior Class of 2018 won Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's Powder Puff flag football game for Homecoming 2017 on Wednesday afternoon (September 27). The game was played with four, six-minute quarters. The junior class had a 3-0 lead after the first quarter, and at halftime the Class of 2019 held a 7-3 lead.
