    A storied chapter in the history of the town of Brooten has come to a close. John O. Bohmer has passed away, as he was reunited with his first wife, Joyce, dying peacefully at his home in Florida on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Bohmer has served as chairman of the board of directors of Bonanza Valley State Bank from 1954 until his passing.     The Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team took on top-ranked New Ulm in the second round of the Class C state tournament on Saturday, August 27 in Dundas. A large crowd at Memorial Field saw a tight ball game play out through the first four innings. The United States, that is, at a distance of over 4,300 miles from her home near Paderborn, Germany in Niederntudorf (population 145,000).
