The Bonanza Valley Days kiddie parade was held on a sunny, picture-perfect Saturday morning, July 8 in Brooten. The video below features the parade, which was held along Hatton Street. The Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team clinched the regular season division title for the 11th time in program history with a 3-2 walk-off win over New Munich on July 14. Blaine Fischer's RBI-single scored Will VanBeck from third base to earn the win in the bottom of the ninth. The Saints and Silverstreaks both went 10-3 in the Stearns County League North, but Elrosa won the title by virtue of their series sweep over New Munich. Norway Lake Township officers and local business donors hosted an old-fashioned community potluck picnic on Saturday, July 15 at the Sunburg Fire Hall. The guest keynote speaker was a well-known local resident of Sunburg, Kandiyohi County Sheriff Eric Tollefson, who provided extensive background information on his law enforcement career and the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's office.
