The 123rd annual Stearns County Fair is running this week, Wednesday through Sunday, August 6-10, at the fairgrounds in Sauk Centre. After trailing 1-0 going into the second inning today against New Munich, the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team put up a 5-spot in the top of the second inning and stayed alive in the Region 8C tournament with a 10-4 win. Elrosa faces Starbuck on Saturday in Spring Hill with first pitch at about 1:30 p.m. depending on the pace of the 11 a.m. game that day. The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 17-U fastpitch team competed in the American Legion's West Central Sub-Region for playoffs in the last week of July. After a 5-2 regular season, the Jaguars earned the No. 2 seed out of 5 teams. They defeated No. 3-seeded Albany 9-2 on Thursday, July 24 at Minnewaska Area.
