    Soil and Water Conservation districts in Pope and Stevens Counties joined together to host Water Fest at the Pope County Fairgrounds in Glenwood on September 12. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's sixth grade class participated in the event, which educations students about soil health and the value of clean water.     The town of Pepin, Wisconsin hosts Laura Ingalls Wilder Days on the second full weekend of each September. The newspaper publisher and youngest daughter traveled to Pepin on Saturday, September 13 for the first day of the two-day event. In the attached video, a barn owl education session is featured.     The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa volleyball team utilized a strong, balanced attack with 3 players in double figures in kills to defeat West Central Area in 4 sets on Tuesday, Sept. 16 in Barrett. Kacey Fischer with 14 kills and Kadynce Haider and Macey Roering with 10 kills each were part of 142 attacks and a team hitting efficiency of 19.7 percent.     A celebration is planned this Sunday at East Norway Lake Lutheran church of rural New London. It begins with worship at 10:30 a.m. followed by a catered meal and a 150th anniversary program. It all culminates with an old-fashioned ice cream social that afternoon.
