Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa elementary students participated in a Fire Prevention and Fire Safety week presentation last Thursday, October 9 brought to them by firefighters from Belgrade, Brooten and Elrosa. Preschool through 5th graders gathered in the gymnasium and listened intently to information that has the potential to save their life. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 6th and 7th grade students enjoyed a field trip on Friday, October 3 to the Oliver Kelley Farm in rural Elk River. This farm is a National Historic Landmark where modern-day guests can get a firsthand view of a working from in the 1860s. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa schools held their 10th annual Color FUND Run fundraiser on Wednesday, September 24. Conditions were warm, and the entire afternoon included full sunshine. Of the 10 Color Runs to date, this was likely the warmest. The participation was terrific from the student body. Peace Lutheran Church held a Celebration of Life for Levi Adrian, 16, of Belgrade, who passed away on September 24. Pastor Mark Kopka provided a brave, heartfelt eulogy that was fitting for the experience our community is enduring. It is a great deal to process and reflect on. Soil and Water Conservation districts in Pope and Stevens Counties joined together to host Water Fest at the Pope County Fairgrounds in Glenwood on September 12. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's sixth grade class participated in the event, which educations students about soil health and the value of clean water. The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Clay Trapshooting team concluded its 10th season on a marvelous day at the MSHSL Clay Trapshooting Championship, which continues to be the world's largest outdoor clay shooting event and is hosted at the Alexandria Shooting Park along I-94. A marvelous fireworks show by Precocious Pyrotechnics was fired off east of the football stadium on Friday, May 23. The show was part of the Class of 2025 graduation from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school. Their commencement ceremony was held that evening at the football field with picture-perfect conditions featuring almost full sunshine, almost no wind to speak of along with perfect temperatures in the upper 60s. Turnout was tremendous tonight for the B-B-E Class of 2025 senior Baccalaureate worship service on Wednesday, April 30.
