    Undefeated conference champions has a nice ring to it. In the regular season finale last Thursday at Pierz, the Jaguars claimed a 3-2 win to take the CMC title alone for the ninth time in school history. The Jaguars also shared CMC titles with Pierz in 2002 and Maple Lake in 2006. Trailing 19-7 in the third quarter, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars football team had their work cut out for themselves against a surging Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity team on October 14 in the Section 4A playoff opener.     A number of items were discussed at Monday night’s Brooten city council meeting (Oct. 12) ranging from the police report, the airport as well as buildint activity and a dilapitated building. Present were Mayor Larry Putz, city clerk Jeanne Kinne and maintenance employee Boyce Fischer. Guests included Julie Reade and Chad Otteson. Council members Scott Vogel and Jon Marchand were absent.     For the first time since the 2012 season, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa volleyball team is champions of the Central Minnesota Conference. While at this point they've clinched a share of the title, the Jaguars have eyes on winning it outright with a win next week at Pierz. On Tuesday this week, the Jaguars (6-0 in the conference) clinched a share of the CMC with a gutsy comeback 15-12 win in game five against Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.
