Faith communities across the Bonanza Valley area celebrated Easter on Sunday, March 31. Sunrise worships were held at 6:30 or 7 a.m. that morning, and other church services followed. From the desk of the Bonanza Valley Voice publisher, Brooten, Minnesota, on Saturday, April 6, 2024: Monday addendum: our newspaper family is sickened by the news of the pending closure of newspapers in Hutchinson and Litchfield. The work done by the local staff in both communities was excellent by our standards. Unfortunately, the management of absentee ownership essentially strangled what could be done each week in their printed newspapers. The spring snowfall from the Easter weekend became part of the fun at the annual Brooten Easter egg hunt. For the second straight year due to late winter snowfall, the Easter egg hunt was held at the elementary school parking lot. An attached video features the children running off into the snowbanks to gather the candy.
