From Gausdal to Gausdal! On Saturday, April 7, 22 residents of Gausdal, Norway visited Gausdal Lutheran church in rural Georgeville, northern Kandiyohi County. The Brooten Lanes is excited to host the annual Battle of the Businesses bowling tournament this Saturday, April 7 in downtown Brooten. A senior housing project proposed for Brooten this winter took another step forward at a community discussion held on March 8 at city hall. At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, a power pole located right along Borgerding Avenue just north of Highway 55 on the east side of Belgrade was accidentally hit by a vehicle. It snapped, and the upper portion of the pole hung in the air while connected to the power lines. On Saturday, Jan. 27 at approximately 9 p.m., the Stearns County Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible building fire on County Road 13 north of Belgrade. News release at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14: On Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at approximately 10:33 a.m., the Stearns County Sheriff's Office received a report of a loose cow about five miles north of Brooten.
