    Likely aided by what was a generally mild winter for Minnesota's standards, service organizations across the Bonanza Valley area and the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa school district enjoyed remarkable support across the past few months for fundraising events. Charles Elwood Sagedahl, affectionately known as "Chuck", age 93, of Brooten, passed peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Funeral services were held on April 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten. Burial with military honors was in the church cemetery in Brooten.     Faith communities across the Bonanza Valley area celebrated Easter on Sunday, March 31. Sunrise worships were held at 6:30 or 7 a.m. that morning, and other church services followed.     Year by year after the pandemic, the Belgrade Lions has built up the annual chili cook-off contest as a fundraiser for the B-B-E Area Food Shelf. This year, with a total of eight different parties providing chili, the Belgrade Lions was thrilled to have 93 individuals participate in the contest.
