    The Stearns County Sheriff's Office today (September 3) confirmed that Jacob Wetterling's remains have been located. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner and a forensic odontologist identified the remains as Wetterling's earlier today. Additional DNA testing will be performed by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).     After extensive digging of section data at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, the following information was uncovered. It shows a comparison of the 2011-12 school year to the current school year. It shows that 22 classrooms were in use for K-6 regular education as well as the Jaguar Kids Connection in the 2011-2012 school year. (Today, the school has 20 rooms in use for those purposes.) The information also shows that the school building had approximately 50 to 55 more students in the building on any given school day (2011-12 compared to today)....

    The summer Vacation Bible School program for the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Catholic churches was held on Thursday, July 28 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church in Elrosa. A total of 51 students (ages four through 12) plus a couple dozen teenage and adult volunteers spent four days together this week learning about God and His Word.     Smash mouth football with a dose of aired-out pig skins was the name of the game on Friday night (Sept. 2) for the 2016 season opener between Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City.     The Regal Eagles have won their state tournament opener, just as they did back in 1997 in their last trip to the big show in Minnesota's Class C of amateur baseball. The Eagles, facing the the Shakopee Coyotes in Dassel this morning (August 20), sat in a 2-2 tie through nine innings. Chris Beier started and went seven innings.     The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Class of 1996 held a 20th anniversary of graduation reunion on Saturday, August 20 in rural Elrosa at the home of classmates Kurt and Michelle (Gjerde) Herickhoff. Almost half of the surviving class attended. Awards were given out for noteworthy honors such as "who traveled the farthest" and "who has the most children", and a moment of silence was held to remember fallen classmates Heidi (Gregory) Deters and Wanda (Holtberg) Gjerde.     For the third time in team history, the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team is heading to the Sweet 16 round of the Class C state tournament. In the Round of 32 at state, Elrosa beat Blue Earth by a 1-0 score on Saturday, August 27 in Hutchinson to improve to 19-14 overall. The Pirates, who were competing in their 14th straight trip to the state tournament, beat St. Joe 6-0 in the opening round of state last weekend.     After a two-year hiatus, the Miss Belgrade royalty were reestablished during the 2016 August Fest activities. In a program held at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday afternoon (August 13), the 2016-2017 Miss Belgrade Ambassadors were crowned. They are Jennifer Boogaard, Jennifer Boyle and Megan Carroll.     A manhunt is underway in the Belgrade area after the driver involved in a two-car accident west of Belgrade fled on foot on the morning of Saturday, July 30. The accident took place at approximately 10:40 a.m. involving a mid-2000s model Chevrolet Equinox (gray color) and a mid-2000s model Chevrolet Impala (silver color).
