The Brooten Senior Citizens group is collecting donations for Eagles Healing Nest of Sauk Centre, a veterans complex on the former Minnesota Correctional Facility. Eagles Healing Nest first opened in June 2012 and had one building and 22 available beds for homeless veterans. Today that figure has expanded to multiple buildings on the campus and 64 beds with over 300 veterans served in a typical month. On Sunday, October 9, a fundraiser service was held at Crow Lake Lutheran church in rural Belgrade.
