On June 20, the Brooten Farmers Market season resumed for the summer and fall. Through the early 2010s, Brooten held a Farmers Market at the city park. Last summer in late August, the a Farmers Market was reestablished in Brooten. Organizers felt it was worth it to get a Farmers Market resumed in June and see what type of interest vendors had. In Minnesota and Stearns County, most overdose deaths were a result of opioids. In 2019, 11 out of 15 (73 percent) Stearns County drug overdoses were due to opioids. Many users are unaware that they are taking fentanyl. It is now involved in 92 percent of all opioid-involved deaths and 62 percent of all overdose deaths in Minnesota. The Sunburg community hosted a marvelous Syttende Mai celebration on Sunday, May 19.
