  • Police department calls up 6 percent from 2021

    The Belgrade-Brooten police department finished 2022 with a total of 1,837 incident complaint reports (ICRs) on the book. This represents about a six percent increase from 2021, when the total was 1,731 between the two towns. Belgrade-Brooten Police Chief Casey Jansky reported to the BB police board that new Automatic Electronic Defibrillators (AEDs) are in service. Farm Bureau's 37th annual survey provides a snapshot of the average cost of this year's classic Thanksgiving feast for 10, which is $64.05 or less than $6.50 per person.     In his October report to the Belgrade-Brooten Joint Police Board, Chief Casey Jansky said that his department's call volumes are up a fair amount from this point in 2021 but appear lower than what 2020 brought. "We are currently at 1,650 incident complaint reports for the year," said Jansky. "Last year we hit that figure on December 15, so we are up a bit from 2021 where we finished at 1,737.
